Merit Badge University Information

Guys,

We will be attending Merit Badge University at ETSU on Saturday, January 21. We will leave from Asbury at 7:30am and return approx. 8:30pm. The registration cost is $20, which needs to be paid by the Jan 16 troop meeting. In addition, you will need to bring $8-10 for supper after the event. We’ll stop at a restaurant before returning to Asbury.

Troop Mobilization Exercise, April 25

Guys, you should have received a call from your patrol leaders. Tonight’s meeting will be a Troop Mobilization exercise, conducted by a group working on Emergency Preparedness merit badge.

All troop members are asked to meet tonight at Hardin Park near the caboose at 7:00 pm. You should be prepared for a search operation. Class A uniforms (for identification), rain gear, water, flashlight, and personal first aid kit are needed. Please pass the word.

Scout Sunday has been moved to Feb 20

Guys, we are moving our Scout Sunday observance to February 20 instead of February 6. All troop members and their families are invited to attend the 10:00am service at Asbury United Methodist Church on Sunday, February 20.

The Nolachuckey District continuous campfire will still be this weekend. Remember our shift is from noon to 6pm on Saturday (Feb 5).

January 10 Troop Meeting Cancelled

Due to the weather and road conditions, the troop meeting for January 10 has been cancelled. Next troop meeting will be Monday, January 24 at 7:00pm.

Merit Badge University, Jan 22, 2011

All troop members are invited to attend Merit Badge University on January 22. Advance registration is required, and must be completed no later than our January 10 troop meeting. Registration cost is $20.00.

Here is the schedule of classes: Merit Badge Univ 2011. Please select 3 choices for each session (morning and afternoon). We cannot guarantee you will get your top choice.

You can sign up at the January 10 troop meeting or call Mr. S. at 470-2014 to sign up. If you have questions about which merit badges you need or should take, we can help you on January 10.

Note that the Sequoyah Council Philmont trip will be July 2 through 17, so any scouts attending Philmont will not be able to attend Summer Camp with the troop.
