New Eagle Scout Application and Project Workbook Forms

BSA has issued updated Eagle Scout Application forms and Project Workbooks. Anyone starting on their project or applying for Eagle needs to use these new forms. I’ve added them to the “Forms and Resources” section on the right side of the website, as well as linked to them below.

Merit Badge University Information

Guys,

We will be attending Merit Badge University at ETSU on Saturday, January 21. We will leave from Asbury at 7:30am and return approx. 8:30pm. The registration cost is $20, which needs to be paid by the Jan 16 troop meeting. In addition, you will need to bring $8-10 for supper after the event. We’ll stop at a restaurant before returning to Asbury.

We will sign up for classes at the Jan 9 troop meeting. See the attached class schedule below. If you cannot be at the troop meeting, please call or email Mr. S. with your class requests. Note that some classes are already full; you can check on the council website to see which classes are still available.

A Christmas Wish List for Scouts

Scouts, here are some ideas of things to ask Santa to bring you for Christmas:

Scout handbook
Scout uniform
Backpack (internal frame 4500-5500 cubic inches or external frame 3500-4500 cubic inches)
Sleeping bag (20-30 degree, compression sack is nice)
Rain coat, rain pants
Camp chair
Nalgene water bottle
Flashlight
Synthetic T-shirts, socks
Watch
Compass (orienteering type, e.g. Silva Starter or Silva Explorer)
Warm hat and gloves
Trekking poles
Hiking shoes
Money for camp and outings
Pocket knife (must have Totin’ chip)
Fleece pullover
